that Shape Us
holistic family support services
Children grow and develop through movement, rhythm, and relationship.
When development is interrupted by stress, birth experiences, illness, or the pace of modern life, the body can hold on to unfinished developmental work.
This can look like:
Children struggling with reading, writing, math, and/or focus
Wiggly, anxious, overwhelmed, or ungrounded behaviors
Underdeveloped fine or gross motor skills
Kids with sensory challenges or unintegrated reflexes
Here, families are holistically supported in removing obstacles and hinderances to learning and growth.
Hello, I’m Emily
and welcome to Tending the Currents!
Tending the Currents is here to support children through body-based work that listens to the nervous system and honors the pace and individualistic nature of true integration.
In addition to being a mother of 3 with experience homeschooling, I hold a Master’s in Family Education, and I have received training in Waldorf Extra Lesson as well as Craniosacral Therapy.
I blend my education, experiences, and trainings together to create spaces where healthy development can thrive
I help remove obstacles that interfere with a child’s natural capacity to organize, connect, and come into their bodies more fully.
I do not aim to fix or override a family; I aim to meet what is already present and support what is ready to unfold.

Children’s Developmental Screenings
These holistic profiles (for ages 5–17) offer a snapshot of your child’s development and guidance for what comes next. Through observation and movement-based activities, I look at coordination, sensory and reflex integration, and foundational learning skills. Families receive a detailed, non-diagnostic developmental map plus practical suggestions to support their child’s continued growth.
Prices start at $275
Parent-Child Classes
In partnership with Forest Lake Nature School, parents and their young children (6months to 5 years old) are warmly guided through a 2 hour class rooted in nature, rhythm, and developmental integrity. Each class offers a seasonally inspired container where parents can process and integrate their lived parenting experience with support, beauty, and intention while children safely explore themselves and the natural world around them.
Seasonal 8 week sessions: $395
