I am so glad you are here.

Through gentle, individualized practices rooted in Waldorf education, Parent Education, reflex integration, and cranial work, my practice helps bring greater ease, alignment, and connection. The goal is to support each child in more fully inhabiting their body so learning, behavior, and wellbeing can unfold more naturally.

I often work with children who have difficulty in their learning and/or home environment whether that is academically or behaviorally. Here, I work to address the underlying challenges and support the child from the bottom up, giving them the tools to feel successful and appropriate challenges to feel inspired.

Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Emily.

Tending the Currents is a space designed to bring more ease, breath, and wellness to a child and family’s development journey. I welcome the mess, listen openly to the true story, and honor each human’s becoming.

I am a pediatric Craniosacral Therapist and movement integration practitioner.

I blend my Master’s in Family Education with my Waldorf Extra Lesson Teacher Training and Craniosacral Therapy training to offer services intended to facilitate a smoother journey. I offer:

  • Individual Sessions: Children are welcomed into my space for tailored sessions that meet them where they are at through craniosacral therapy and intentional movement, including primitive reflex integration.

  • Development Screenings: Screenings empower parents and teachers to better understand their child’s developmental story from a holistic lens.

  • Parent-Child Classes: In partnership with Forest Lake Nature School, I warmly guide parents and their children in a weekly, seasonal gathering weaving authentic connection with predictable rhythms.

Children’s Developmental Screenings

These holistic profiles (for ages 5–17) offer a snapshot of your child’s development and guidance for what comes next. Through observation and movement-based activities, I look at coordination, sensory and reflex integration, and foundational learning skills. Families receive a detailed, non-diagnostic developmental map plus practical suggestions to support their child’s continued growth.

Prices start at $275

Parent-Child Classes

In partnership with Forest Lake Nature School, parents and their young children ages 6 months to 5 years old are warmly guided through a 2 hour class rooted in nature, rhythm, and developmental integrity. Each class offers a seasonally inspired container where parents can process and integrate their lived parenting experience with support, beauty, and intention while children safely explore themselves and the natural world around them.

Seasonal 8 week sessions: $395

  • Emily is a beautiful soul with an ability to see, connect, nurture, and hold. She has met me in difficult parts of my parenting journey with tenderness, compassion, and her whole heart. She 'gets it.' We are so blessed to have connected with Emily and have her light touch in our lives

    - S.K.

  • Emily has a heart of gold and truly cares about children and their parents. I had the lovely opportunity to be in many of her classes with my son, I learned so much and really felt welcomed and listened to. She meets you wherever you are in your journey with compassion and zero judgment. She has a comprehensive understanding of how children develop and I always appreciated her wisdom.

  • Parenting in today’s world can feel overwhelmingly busy and noisy, and as a parent of young children, I often longed for grounding and connection. Emily’s classes offered exactly that. Her spaces brought steadiness and warmth, helping me feel supported in my parenting journey. Emily is an exceptionally gifted educator with a deep understanding of Waldorf pedagogy and early childhood development. Her intention and genuine care for families shine through in every class she leads. I am truly grateful for Emily’s mentorship and the nourishing spaces she creates for both parents and children.

  • Emily’s being and talent is a gift to our future generations and health. Her ability to translate the unseen obstacles into opportunities has encouraged our family to go through every day with grace and deeper understanding. Simply put, her intuitive nature is just as strong as the knowledge she holds. You will rest in clarity and joy after experiencing her sessions. I would highly recommend her service to any one who is seeking a path toward balance for themselves, their kin and their family as a whole.

    —S.W.

  • My initial cranial session was deeply supportive and grounding. From the start, Emily offered a steady, patient presence, a warm and attentive touch, and a spirit that helped me feel genuinely held and seen. During the first session, I came into recognition of early developmental and nervous system patterns my body has quietly carried over the years. The work allowed long-held tension to surface and soften in a way that felt safe. Emily's care extended beyond the table as she thoughtfully held space afterward, helping me integrate the sensations and stories that emerged. I left feeling more settled in my body and deeply grateful for the attunement and integrity Emily brings her practice. She has a profound capacity to sense, shift, and stabilize the internal landscape we so often dismiss or diminish. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking gentle, trauma-informed bodywork
