Child Development Profiles
A holistic snapshot of your child's unfolding story designed to support both the child and parent.
The first seven years of life lay the foundation for everything that comes next. During early childhood, a child is busy forming a relationship with their body, their senses, and the world around them. When this foundational development is strong, children enter later years with more confidence, ease, and the ability to learn freely. When parts of this early blueprint are incomplete or stressed, challenges may begin to appear.
Grounded in the work of Audrey McAllen’s Extra Lesson, informed by my Waldorf Learning Support training, and woven together with my years of experience in supporting families, these Child Development Profiles offer parents a structured yet compassionate way to understand their child’s development. These are the same types of screenings performed in Waldorf schools around the world, and my work aims to make them available to any family seeking this kind of holistic, body-based developmental insight. By observing movement, sensory processing, and early learning foundations, the screening reveals what is integrated and what may still be calling for support.
This work is not only about the child; it is equally about empowering the parent. You, as the primary caregiver, know your child, home life, and circumstances best. When parents have insight, language, and tools that feel holistic and aligned, they become the most powerful support in their child’s life.
These profiles are valuable for anyone wanting a deeper understanding of their child, but they are especially supportive for:
Homeschool families seeking holistic, developmentally aligned guidance
Parents and teachers noticing children with learning, attention, emotional, or movement challenges
Children who are bright but struggling to thrive in traditional settings
Families wanting a developmental lens rather than a diagnostic one
Many homeschool parents want to learn new, innovative, and differentiated ways to meet their unique child in an educational capacity. These Profiles work to fill that gap. Instead of a diagnosis or label, parents receive a developmental map—a way to understand what is happening and what could support change. The investment is not only in the child’s growth, but in the parent’s ability to feel equipped, informed, and supported in their parenting and/or homeschooling journey.
Profiles
In addition to the screening, parents receive a comprehensive written report tailored to your child and family’s circumstances, a follow up consultation for review, questions, brainstorming, and next steps. All of this is included with the price of the screening.
5 - 7 Year Olds
As the first seven-year cycle completes, this is an ideal time to check in on how early foundations of movement, senses, and body awareness have developed. Around six and seven, major changes in the brain and body occur. A screening helps identify where support may strengthen this foundation before the child enters the next phase of growth and learning.
Price: $275
8 & 9 Year Olds
These bridge years mark the shift from early childhood toward the sense of individuality that occurs around age 9. As children enter the time of more intentional academia, screenings not only show how well the body and senses are functioning, but also offer insight into emerging learning patterns.
Price: $300
10 - 17 Year Olds
By this age, children have often developed sophisticated ways of working around underlying challenges. A screening helps bring these patterns to light, showing where support can bring more balance, ease, and confidence in learning and daily life.
Price: $325
Sibling discounts are available for families wishing to schedule multiple profiles. The first child (oldest) is full price, the second 15% off, and additional siblings are 25% off when scheduled within six months of one another.

Required standardized testing for homeschoolers varies by state. These screenings do not replace your state requirements. By nature, standardized testing have all children answer the same questions (standardized) and compare children to other children nationally (holding them to state or country-wide standards). Child Development Profiles are different in their child-centered approach. Children will move through a sequence of activities, varied by age and tailored to the child. This is a human-centered experience, which puts connection, warmth, and a feeling of success at the center.
Unlike standardized tests, which rarely guide parents on next steps, this screening provides in-depth insight into your child’s development and learning style, along with practical, tailored ideas to enrich your homeschool experience.

Many families screen once in early childhood (ages 5–7) and again in the grade-school years (ages 8–10). One screening can often set a supportive path, but some parents choose to rescreen after a year or two to track growth. It’s never too late to start! Older children benefit as well.
-
No. This is a non-diagnostic screening, which means no labels are given. Instead, it highlights areas of strength and areas of development that could benefit from support. I will suggest practical next steps, sometimes that may include a suggestion to see another professional (e.g., occupational therapist, cranial sacral therapist, developmental optometrist. etc.), but you’ll also receive ideas to weave into your home life. Parents ultimately decide the best path forward.
-
You’ll receive the full report by email, and we will schedule a one-on-one consultation (in person or on Zoom) to discuss it, both included in the screening cost.
Your report includes:
Thematic takeaways
Screening analysis across eight developmental areas
Sensory integration observations
Practical suggestions
Plus an academic addendum for ages 8+
-
Certainly! Once you have the report, you decide who to share it with. While I don’t make referrals or schedule with outside professionals on your behalf, many families find the report helpful for primary care doctor referrals, teachers, therapists, or admissions at Waldorf schools.
-
No. These screenings are not covered by insurance.

My training in Waldorf Extra Lesson and my relationship to the philosophy informs the screening and my observations. However, the report and recommendations are tailored to your family’s needs and rooted in scientific, evidence based areas of development—not limited to Waldorf-specific practices.
